Running a Call Center or Peer-to-Peer Texting campaign? Here's how to add the agents or volunteers who'll do the calling and texting, and how to organize them into teams.
Call Center and Peer-to-Peer Texting campaigns need agents logged in to actually place calls and send texts. Adding them the way that fits your team, one at a time, through a signup form, or through the API, gets people into your account with their own login. Grouping agents into teams means you can assign a whole team to a campaign at once instead of adding people one by one, which matters once your agent list grows past a handful of names.
Before you start
- Access: manager or admin access to your CallHub account.
- Note: this covers standard agent creation, which requires the agent to validate their account by email. If you need agents who can log in right away without that step, see Pre-activated Agent creation on CallHub.
- Time: a couple of minutes per agent.
Add an agent manually
- Go to the Agents section, then click + Add Agent.
- Click + Create Agent.
-
Enter the agent's username. It can't contain spaces.
- Enter the agent's email address, then save. This address needs to be active, since CallHub sends a validation link to it.
Let agents sign themselves up
- Go to Campaigns, then Embeddable Forms, and copy the signup form link.
-
Add that link to your website. Volunteers who fill it out get an agent account created in your CallHub account automatically.
You can also create agents through the CallHub API. See the API reference for the agent request.
Check on an agent's activation status
- Go to the Agents section.
- Look for the agent under Active Agents, meaning they've clicked their validation link, or Pending Activation, meaning they haven't yet.
- For a pending agent, click Resend to send the validation email again.
Manage an active agent
- Go to the Agents section and find the agent.
- Click Password Reset to reset their password, or Clear Status to clear a bad connection cache.
Add a team and assign agents to it
- Go to Agents, then Teams, then click Add Team.
- Enter the team name and click Add.
-
Click Manage Agents, choose the Assign Agents tab, and select the agents to add. Hold Ctrl (Windows) or Command (Mac) to select more than one.
-
To remove an agent from a team, select them, then click the trash can icon.
Notes & limits
ⓘ An agent's username can't contain spaces, and their email needs to be active, since that's where CallHub sends the validation link.
ⓘ A Default agent is created along with your main account. An Activated agent is one you, or a signup form, create afterward, and it needs email validation before it's active.
✓ Assign a whole team to a Call Center or Peer-to-Peer Texting campaign instead of adding agents one by one.
FAQs
What's the difference between a Default agent and an Activated agent?
A Default agent is created along with your main account. An Activated agent is created afterward, by you or through self-signup, and needs to validate by email.
An agent hasn't activated their account. What do I do?
They'll show up under Pending Activation. Click Resend to send the validation link again.
Can I add agents without creating each one by hand?
Yes. Use an embeddable signup form so volunteers register themselves, or add agents through the CallHub API.
Can I reset an agent's password myself?
Yes. Use Password Reset next to their name in the Agents section.
