Want to see how your Text Broadcast performed and pull the data into a spreadsheet? This article shows you how to read your campaign's statistics, filter and export campaign results, and generate an account-wide Text Report. It's for campaign managers running SMS or MMS broadcasts.
Why check your results
Your campaign results tell you whether your messages actually reached people, what each message cost, and which contacts replied. Use them to spot delivery problems early (failed or blocked messages), measure engagement, and build a contact list of respondents for your next campaign. A quick review after every broadcast helps you improve delivery rates and spend your credits where they work.
Before you start
- You need a Text Broadcast campaign that has started sending messages. Results build up as messages go out.
- You need manager (account owner or admin) access. Agents don't see campaign-level reports.
- Checking statistics takes about 2 minutes. Exporting a report takes about 5 minutes, depending on report size.
Check your campaign's Overview statistics
Open your campaign and go to the Overview (Statistics) tab. Here's what each figure means:
- Completed: the percentage of contacts already contacted, including retries.
- Pending: the percentage of contacts still queued for message delivery.
- Total blocked: the number of messages marked as spam or blocked by the carrier.
- Total: the total number of messages sent, including failed and unsent messages.
- Inbound: the total number of incoming messages received in the campaign.
For what each per-message status means (Sent, Delivered, Failed, Filtered, Rejected, No Route), see Understand texting message statuses.
The Total Cost shown on this tab is your campaign's total spend, deducted automatically from your available credits, so keep enough credits in your account for pending messages to keep sending. For per-message costs, generate the account-wide Text Report described below.
Read and export responses
The Responses tab shows every conversation in the campaign, with a badge for how many responses have come in. Incoming and outgoing messages are marked with arrows next to each message.
- Open your campaign and click the Responses tab.
- Switch between All messages, Un-reads, and Opt-outs to focus the list.
- Use the Search box to find a contact by name or texting number, and click Refresh to pull in the latest messages.
- To download the conversations, click Export.
-
To reuse contacts in another campaign, click Create contact list and choose of Completed or of Pending.
✓ Create contact list > of Completed gives you everyone the broadcast already reached, ready for a follow-up campaign. Of Pending collects the contacts still queued, so you can move them into another campaign instead of waiting.
Fields in the exported campaign results CSV
| Field | What it contains |
|---|---|
| Campaign name | The name of the campaign |
| Firstname | Contact's first name |
| Lastname | Contact's last name |
| Email address | The email of the contact |
| City | The city of the contact |
| State | The state of the contact |
| Zipcode | Zipcode of the contact's address |
| Phone number | The cellphone number of the contact |
| Agent | The username of the agent that sent the message |
| Last_message_sent | The most recent message sent to the contact |

If you used custom fields for your contacts, they appear in the campaign results too, with each contact's data filled in.
ⓘ Agent, Survey Results, tag filters, and conversation fields apply to agent-based texting campaigns (such as Peer to Peer texting). In a Text Broadcast, messages go out automatically, so these fields may be empty.
Generate the account-wide Text Report
The Text Reports page (formerly the SMS report) covers messages across your account, with per-message cost and delivery detail. To generate it:
- On the left pane, go to Reports > All Reports, then click Text Reports.
- Set your filters: start and finish date, message status, error code, a specific campaign, direction (Inbound or Outbound), and message type (SMS or MMS).
- Click Search to run the report.
-
Click Export to download the report in CSV format.
Fields in the exported Text Report CSV
| Field | What it contains |
|---|---|
| Sender | The name of the sender |
| Sender number | The Caller ID of the campaign |
| Recipient number | The contact's phone number |
| Agent | The name of the agent that sent the message |
| Send date | The date and time the message was sent from the campaign |
| Gateway message ID | A unique ID generated by telecom carriers |
| Message | The content of the message or script |
| Attached Media | The link to the media (if any) used in the campaign |
| Status | The status of the message (Delivered, Queued, Failed) |
| Direction | Outbound or Inbound |
| Cost | The cost of the message in $ |
ⓘ For Inbound messages, the columns swap: the Sender number is the contact's number, and the Recipient number is the Caller ID of your SMS campaign.
ⓘ The Agent field applies to agent-based texting campaigns (P2P). For Text Broadcast messages, it stays blank.
✓ The Gateway message ID is what CallHub Support needs to investigate a delivery issue. Include it when you contact Support about a message that didn't arrive.
FAQs
A lot of my messages failed. How do I find out why?
Filter the Text Report by status or error code, then look up the code in SMS error codes. If you still can't tell, send Support the Gateway message ID from the report.
Can I see the cost of each individual message?
Yes. The Overview tab shows only the campaign total. For per-message costs, export it from Reports > All Reports > Text Reports and check the Cost column.
Can I report on both SMS and MMS messages?
Yes. In the Text Report filters, choose whether to include SMS or MMS messages. See Send an MMS broadcast for how MMS campaigns work.
