Relational organizing is a method of grassroots organizing that emphasizes building and strengthening personal relationships between individuals to create social and political change. It is often used in political campaigns, advocacy efforts, and community organizing.
Relational organizing differs from traditional organizing methods, which often rely on mass advertising and impersonal outreach tactics. In this article, we can see how a volunteer can use relational organizing to reach out to his audience. The outreach method depends on what is selected by the campaign manager while setting up the Relational Organizing campaign.
However, as an agent, you can use all the outreach methods to reach out to your audience.
Once you have logged in as an agent on the CallHub Mobile App, you will see the campaign card for Relational Organizing Campaign. Tap on the card to move forward.
Next, the system will prompt you to build your network by adding more contacts. This begins with matching contacts from your cellphone's contact list with the campaign. You need to "Allow" CallHub to access your contacts.
After the contacts are matched, the list of matched contacts will be displayed. You need to click on "Add contacts to network" to move forward with the outreach.
But, if you wish to review the matched contacts, you may click on "View contacts" to view the matched contacts. Here, you can unselect contacts that you do not wish to reach out to.
If no contacts are matched and if you wish to add more contacts to the campaign, you may manually add contacts from your contact list or by creating a contact.
From Contacts - All the matched contacts will be grayed out, and you cannot take any action on those contacts. The remaining contacts will be available for selection, and you may click the checkbox to add them to your outreach.
Manually - You can add contacts manually to your network by entering the name and phone number of the contact. Once you have filled in the details, tap "Add contacts to network" to proceed.
Next, you may click on "Start Outreach" to get in touch with the contacts added to the RO campaign.
As mentioned earlier, you may reach out to them through any outreach method, although a specific outreach method is selected as Default for the campaign. Here, you can use Message, Call, or the Share option to complete the outreach.
The CallHub system will use the native calling and texting app of your device to call and send messages. The share works similarly to the App sharing functionality on a mobile device.
If your outreach includes surveys, the contacts will be marked Completed after they have answered the survey questions. You may navigate to the "Survey" section to check the status of the surveys.
The progress of the outreach can be viewed by the campaign manager from the Overview Statistics on the admin dashboard.
