CNAM for Caller IDs

CNAM stands for Caller ID Name. The CNAM feature in a telephone network helps identify an incoming caller by a personal or business name associated with the originating phone number. Registering one means:

• People can recognize who is calling. They see a name, not only a number.

• You set it up during registration. CallHub lets you register a CNAM while you set up SHAKEN/STIR on your account.

• You can use a business or personal name. A CNAM can be registered with a business or an individual.

Before you start

• Your CNAM must be up to 15 characters long.
• It must begin with a letter.
• It can contain only letters, numbers, commas, and spaces.
• You need to be registering SHAKEN/STIR for your account. See Register for SHAKEN/STIR on your CallHub account.
• Entering a name is one extra field in your SHAKEN/STIR registration, which takes about 10 minutes in total.

⚠ CNAM registration works only for US numbers. Why: CallHub allows CNAM registration for US numbers only.

Register your CNAM

1. In CallHub, go to Settings.
2. Under Compliance > Calling, click Register for SHAKEN/STIR.
3. Enter your company details and your organization details.
4. In the Caller ID section, enter the name you want to show. Follow the CNAM rules above.
5. Click Save and Next, then finish the rest of the registration and submit your details.
