If you're a candidate, political committee, party, PAC, or 527 organization texting US numbers, this is your registration path: get verified by Campaign Verify, then register your Brand and Political use case in CallHub with the Campaign Verify token (CV token) you receive. Completing it unlocks the Political special use case, high message throughput, and better delivery rates — and keeps carriers from filtering your texts as spam.
⚠ Do not submit your Brand for vetting from the CallHub dashboard when registering for political campaigns. Political vetting is handled by Campaign Verify instead, submitting for standard vetting wastes the fee and doesn't count for political approval.
Before you start
- You must be a 527 organization with a valid EIN. Campaign Verify only accepts verification requests from 527s.
- Federal candidates need an FEC ID.
- Your filing information must exactly match official records — the details you enter must be current and identical to your published filing with the FEC or your State, Local, or Tribal election authority.
- Budget $95 per candidate per election cycle. The verification fee is non-refundable, and each brand/candidate needs its own token.
- Expect approval in minutes to 2 business days after you submit.
- Tokens run on 2-year election cycles. Tokens for requests submitted on or after November 15, 2024 are valid until January 31, 2027. After a token expires, you must submit a new verification request and pay a new $95 fee for the next cycle.
Part 1: Generate your Campaign Verify token
Campaign Verify is a secure, non-partisan service that validates the identity of political campaigns. The token it issues signals your verified status to wireless carriers.
- Go to Campaign Verify and complete the initial webform — whether you're a political campaign/committee or a consulting agency acting on behalf of one. You'll receive an email with a link to log in to the Campaign Verify portal. Sign up on campaignverify.org with your candidate or committee details. <!-- source attachment 4485190158105 -->
- In the Campaign Verify portal, click +New Verification Request. Start a new verification request from the portal dashboard. <!-- source attachment 4485260064281 -->
- Select the State/Local or Federal submission form, depending on your campaign type. Federal candidates require an FEC ID. Choose the election type that matches your filing. <!-- source attachment 4485366074137 -->
- Fill in your filing details, following the on-screen instructions, then click Next. The information must exactly match your official online filing record with the FEC or your State, Local, or Tribal election authority. Enter your committee details exactly as they appear on your official filing. <!-- source attachment 4485353165593 -->
- Pay the $95 non-refundable verification fee. Your request then goes to the Campaign Verify team for manual review.
✓ TIP: In a hurry? Campaign Verify offers expedited review with a 2-business-day SLA for an increased fee of $400.
- Wait for your six-digit PIN. To ensure authenticity, Campaign Verify sends the PIN only to the email address, phone number (text or call), or postal address listed on your published official filing record. Email and text arrive immediately, phone calls are scheduled, and US postal mail takes 5-10 business days.
- Once the PIN arrives, log back in at app.campaignverify.org, open your pending submission, and enter the PIN.
- Click Select a Channel and choose 10DLC — this is the required channel for CallHub text messaging campaigns.
- Click Create an Authorization Token. Choose the 10DLC channel, then create your Authorization Token.
- Copy the generated token. It starts with "cv" and contains pipe delimiters, like
cv|1.0|tcr|10dlc|.... You'll paste it into CallHub in Part 3.
ⓘ NOTE: Verifying a Toll-Free number instead? Choose Toll-Free from the channel dropdown, not 10DLC. That token looks like cv|1.0|mno|tfree|65... — the two token types are not interchangeable, so don't mix them up.

Part 2: Register your Brand for Political
- In CallHub, go to Settings > Compliance, open the 10DLC tab, and click Add a Brand. Enter your political committee's name — exactly as filed — as the Brand name.
- Choose Political campaigns and services as the vertical.
- Choose Non-Profit as the organization type.
- Answer Yes to "Is your brand a Political Action Committee or 527 organization?" Only then can you choose Political as the use case later.
- Submit the Brand. You'll be charged $4.5 for political Brand registration.
⚠ Register the Brand in the name of the candidate or committee you're running campaigns for, and make sure the details match your Campaign Verify submission exactly. A Political use case cannot be registered under a different brand, so a mismatch blocks your registration.
Part 3: Register the Political use-case
- In the use case registration, enter your political committee's name as the name of the use case.
- Under Campaign type, select Special use cases, then Political.
- Paste your CV token into the Campaign Verify Token field. Paste your Campaign Verify token in the field shown during Political use case registration.
- Click Next, submit your sample messages, and complete the payment.
CallHub then verifies your use case, and 10DLC for political campaigns is enabled on your account.
Notes & limits
ⓘ NOTE: One candidate's token per Brand. Campaign Verify tokens for multiple candidates cannot be linked to a single Brand — if you run campaigns for several candidates, each needs its own Brand and its own $95 verification. Multiple use cases can be linked to one Brand, except Political use cases.
⚠ WARNING: A Campaign Verify token can be used only once per texting platform. If you already used your token on another platform, it will not work on CallHub — re-verify with Campaign Verify to obtain a new token.
ⓘ NOTE: If your verification request is rejected, you don't pay again. The rejection notice explains the issue; reply to it with the requested information to amend your submission at no extra fee.
ⓘ NOTE: Campaign Verify requires direct verification from an election authority, so newly formed campaigns whose official filing isn't yet published online are not yet eligible.
FAQs
How long does Campaign Verify approval take?
Campaign Verify typically approves or rejects a submission within minutes to 2 business days. How fast the PIN reaches you depends on the delivery method: email and text are immediate, phone calls are scheduled, and postal mail takes 5-10 business days. An expedited 2-business-day SLA is available for $400.
When does my token expire?
Tokens are valid for two-year election cycles. Tokens generated for requests submitted on or after November 15, 2024 are valid until January 31, 2027. After that, submit a new verification request and pay a new $95 fee for the next cycle.
Why won't my token work on CallHub?
The most common reason: it was already used on another texting platform. A CV token works only once per platform, so you'll need to re-verify with Campaign Verify and get a new token to use on CallHub.
Who receives the PIN?
Only the contacts listed on your published official filing — the email address, phone number, or postal address on record with the FEC or your State, Local, or Tribal election authority. If you can't access those, ask the person who can (such as your treasurer) to watch for the PIN, or update your official filing with current contact information.
