10DLC registration is mandatory for every organization that sends application-to-person (A2P) SMS or MMS to US numbers. Once you're registered, carriers treat your traffic as verified: your messages are less likely to be flagged as spam, and you get a higher daily sending limit than unregistered numbers allow.
Registration happens in two parts, in this order:
- Register your Brand — this verifies who your organization is.
- Register your use case — this describes the messages you'll send. You can only start it after your Brand is registered.
If you're a political organization (a political party, PAC, or 527), you'll also complete vetting through Campaign Verify between the two parts — see Register 10DLC for political campaigns with a Campaign Verify token.

Before you start
Gather these details first. Inconsistent or missing details are the most common reason registrations get rejected — see Avoid the 6 mistakes that get 10DLC registrations rejected.
- Your organization's legal name, exactly as it appears in your EIN/IRS records
- Your EIN (Employer Identification Number, issued by the IRS)
- Your business type (nonprofit, private company, government, and so on)
- Your vertical — the sector your organization works in
- A working website where your organization's details are easy to find
- Contact details for your organization's representative: name, email, phone number, and postal address. For political Brands, use the candidate's details.
Know what to expect:
- Time: Brand approval is typically instant but can take up to 1–2 business days. Use case approval takes up to 4–6 business days.
- Cost: non-political Brands pay a $44 registration and vetting fee, refunded as CallHub credits on success. Each use case costs $30 per quarter plus a one-time $15 vetting fee. See 10DLC fees and charges: what you'll pay and when for the full breakdown.
- One Brand per EIN: you can register only one Brand for each EIN.
Part 1: Register your Brand
Your Brand is your organization as TCR sees it — in simple terms, the name of your organization, tied to your EIN. CallHub submits your details to TCR and, for non-political Brands, vetting runs automatically after you submit.
- From your CallHub dashboard, go to Settings > Compliance.
- On the Compliance page, open the 10DLC tab.
- Click Add a Brand.
- Fill in your organization's details, your vertical, and your EIN. Enter your organization's details exactly as they appear in IRS records.
ⓘ If you choose the vertical Political campaigns and services, the political radio button is automatically set to Yes, and you must register with the candidate's details. For every other vertical, the button stays greyed out at No.
- Enter your representative's contact details. For a political Brand, enter the candidate's details. Make sure these details are easy to find on your website or elsewhere on the web — TCR checks for them during verification. Use contact details that are discoverable on your website.
- Select the confirmation checkbox, then submit your Brand. Confirm your details and submit the Brand to TCR.
After you submit, CallHub sends your details to TCR for verification and vetting. Once vetting completes, your Brand is registered and receives a Trust Score.
ⓘ Non-political Brands are charged $44 ($4 registration + $40 vetting) because they go through TCR's standard vetting. The full amount is refunded as CallHub credits after your Brand registers successfully. Political Brands pay only the small registration fee — Campaign Verify handles their vetting instead.
⚠ For political registrations, do not submit your Brand for vetting from the CallHub dashboard — Campaign Verify handles political vetting. See Register 10DLC for political campaigns with a Campaign Verify token.
Part 2: Register your use case
A use case tells carriers what your messages are about — for example Marketing, Polling and voting, or Political. TCR groups use cases into Standard and Special types. If you're not sure which one fits, see Choose the right 10DLC use case for your organization.
Start this part once your Brand shows as registered (and vetted, for non-political Brands).
- On the 10DLC tab, click +Register new use case. Start use case registration from the 10DLC tab.
- Choose the Brand you're registering this use case for.
- Pick your use case type.
ⓘ Political Brands can register only the Political use case, and non-political Brands can't select it — all other options are greyed out or unavailable. Political Brands enter their Campaign Verify token at this stage; see Register 10DLC for political campaigns with a Campaign Verify token.
Pick the use case type that matches your messaging.
Write your campaign description. It must include:
- How contacts opt in to your messages and how they opt out
- How often you'll message them (message frequency)
- A support phone number or email address
- Links to your Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions
Make these details as accurate as possible — vague or incomplete descriptions cause rejections and delays. For wording that passes review, see Set up compliant opt-ins and calls-to-action for 10DLC. Describe your opt-in and opt-out flow, message frequency, and support contact. Add the links to your Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.
Add your sample messages. Every sample must:
- Open with an introduction that names your organization
- Include opt-out language, such as "Reply STOP to unsubscribe"
- Match the content attributes you select — for example, if you set Embedded links to Yes, your samples must contain links. The same rule applies to phone numbers and every other attribute.
Keep your samples close to the real messages you plan to send. If your sample content doesn't match your selected attributes, your use case may be rejected. Your attribute selections must match your sample messages.
If you send MMS with your texting campaigns, upload the multimedia files with your submission (.jpg, .png, .jpeg, or pdf). TCR reviews these files during use case approval. If your call-to-action, Privacy Policy, or Terms are embedded in your website without a standalone link, uploading a screenshot of them is fine. Upload the files you plan to send as MMS. No standalone policy link? Upload a screenshot instead.
Review the summary, then click Accept and add use case to submit it to TCR.
Notes & limits
ⓘ Each use case costs $30 per quarter plus a one-time $15 vetting fee. Keep a minimum credit balance of $30 in your account when your use case is due for renewal each quarter, so the renewal goes through without interrupting your texting.
ⓘ After your Brand is vetted, TCR's vetting partner assigns it a Trust Score from 10 to 100, based on your organization's web presence, reputation, and line of business. Your Trust Score drives your daily sending throughput — the higher the score, the more messages you can send. Learn more in What is 10DLC? Why you must register before texting US numbers.
FAQs
Can I register more than one Brand?
No — you can create one Brand per EIN. If you need another Brand, it needs its own unique EIN.
Can I register multiple use cases under the same Brand?
Yes. Each use case is charged separately: $30 for the initial quarter, then $30 every quarter after that.
My use case was rejected. What now?
Fix the details that caused the rejection and submit again. Check that your description, sample messages, and content attributes all agree with each other, and review Avoid the 6 mistakes that get 10DLC registrations rejected first — the $15 vetting fee is charged for every submission, whatever the outcome.
