Want to bring your ActBlue donors into CallHub without exporting and uploading files? Set up an ActBlue Contact Import connection once, and CallHub pulls contribution data straight from your ActBlue account into a contact list you name. This article is for CallHub users with admin access to their ActBlue Dashboard.
You skip manual file uploads. CallHub pulls the contacts directly from ActBlue, so there is no CSV to export, clean, or upload.
You choose exactly who comes in. A start date, an end date, and a contribution type let you import only the records that fit your campaign, whether that is recent activity or historical data.
You can reach donors right away. Each import creates a named contact list you can use in your outreach campaigns.
You see what happened. When the import finishes, an import summary shows how many contacts were added and whether any records were skipped or failed.
Before you start
- You need admin access to your ActBlue Dashboard to create API credentials.
- You need a CallHub account with permission to manage integrations.
- Creating credentials and running your first import takes about 10 minutes.
Create your ActBlue API credentials
- Log in to your ActBlue Dashboard.
- Go to Admin, then API Credentials.
- Generate a Client UUID and a Client Secret. CallHub uses these keys to connect securely to your ActBlue data. Generate the Client UUID and Client Secret here.
Connect ActBlue to CallHub
- In your CallHub dashboard, create a new Contact Import connection under the ActBlue integration.
Enter the Client UUID and Client Secret exactly as ActBlue provided them. CallHub validates the credentials, and the connection becomes active after they pass. The connection activates only after the credentials validate.
Run an import
- Select the ActBlue connection you just created.
Enter a name for the contact list you want to create in CallHub.
Choose a start date and an end date for the contributions you want to import. The date range controls which contributions come over.
- Select the CSV type: paid contributions, refunded contributions, cancelled recurring contributions, or managed form contributions. Pick the contribution type that matches your campaign goal.
Start the import. CallHub brings the contacts in using your configured field mappings, so names, phone numbers, emails, and other details land in the correct fields. Your field mappings decide where each ActBlue detail goes.
Notes & limits
ⓘ CallHub validates your Client UUID and Client Secret before it activates the connection. If validation fails, check that you entered both exactly as ActBlue provided them.
ⓘ Review the import summary before you use the list in an outreach campaign. It is your record of how many contacts were added and which records were skipped or failed.
✓ Name each list with its date range and contribution type (for example, actblue-paid-2026-q2) so you can tell your donor lists apart later.
✓ Treat the Client Secret like a password and store it somewhere secure.
FAQs
Where do I find my Client UUID and Client Secret?
In your ActBlue Dashboard, under Admin > API Credentials. Generate them there if you do not have them yet.
Which contribution types can I import?
Paid contributions, refunded contributions, cancelled recurring contributions, and managed form contributions. You choose one CSV type for each import.
Some records did not come in. Where can I see why?
Open the import summary. It shows how many contacts were added and whether any records were skipped or failed.
Is this the same as the donation webhook?
No. The Contact Import connection pulls contribution data from ActBlue for the date range and type you choose. The webhook sends contributions from ActBlue into CallHub automatically. You can use both.
