If you are a political campaign or committee (PAC) using CallHub for SMS messaging, you must register for 10DLC to unlock special political use cases, high message throughput, and better delivery rates.
To complete your 10DLC registration as a political entity on CallHub, you are required to generate an Authorization Token through Campaign Verify. Campaign Verify is a secure, non-partisan service that validates the identity of political campaigns and provides this token to signal your verified status to wireless carriers.
Follow the step-by-step instructions below to complete your identity verification request and obtain your token to use in CallHub.
Step-by-Step Verification Process
Step 1: Get Started with Campaign Verify
Head over to Campaign Verify and complete the initial webform. Whether you are a political campaign/committee or a consulting agency acting on behalf of one, they will provide the necessary resources to get you started.
Step 2: Start a New Verification Request
Once you have created an account and logged into the Campaign Verify portal, click on “+New Verification Request”. Select either the State/Local or Federal submission form, depending on your campaign type.
Step 3: Provide Your Filing Information
Follow the on-screen instructions and fill out all necessary details.
⚠️ Important: Make sure the information you provide is current and exactly matches the details listed on your official online filing record with the FEC or your State, Local, or Tribal election authority. Campaign Verify only accepts requests from 527 organizations with a valid EIN.
Step 4: Submit for Processing and Await Your PIN
You will be required to pay a $95 non-refundable verification fee to Campaign Verify. After submitting your payment, your request will be sent to the Campaign Verify team for manual review.
- Once approved, a secure six-digit PIN code will be issued.
- To ensure authenticity, Campaign Verify will only send this PIN to the email address, phone number (text/call), or postal address currently listed on your published official filing record.
Step 5: Verify Your Identity
Once you receive your six-digit PIN code, log back into the portal at app.campaignverify.org. Click on your pending submission and enter the PIN code.
Step 6: Create Your 10DLC Authorization Token
After successfully entering your PIN, it is time to generate the token you will need for CallHub.
- Click “Select a Channel”.
- Choose 10DLC (This is the required channel for CallHub text messaging campaigns).
- Click “Create an Authorization Token”.
Note: If you are setting up a Campaign Verify Token for a Toll-Free number, you need to choose Toll-free from the dropdown instead of 10DLC. The CV token should look like cv|1.0|mno|tfree|65....
Step 7: Submit the Token in CallHub
Copy the generated 10DLC Authorization Token (It should start with "cv" and contain pipe delimiters, looking something like cv|...|tcr|10dlc|...
Log in to your CallHub account and navigate to the 10DLC Registration section. Paste this token into the designated Campaign Verify Token field to finalize your political brand registration.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How long does the verification process take?
Once you submit your information, Campaign Verify typically approves or rejects it within minutes to two business days. The time it takes to receive your PIN depends on your chosen method: email and text are immediate, calls can be scheduled, and U.S. postal mail takes 5-10 business days. (Note: Campaign Verify offers an expedited 2-business-day SLA for an increased fee of $400).
What if my request is rejected? Do I have to pay the $95 again?
No. If your request is rejected due to an error, you will receive a rejection notice explaining the issue. You can reply to that notice with the requested information to amend your submission without paying an additional fee.
What if I don't have access to the email or phone number listed on my election filing?
Campaign Verify can only send the PIN to the contact methods listed on the official public filing. If you do not have access to that inbox or phone number, you will need to find the person in your committee who does (such as the treasurer) and alert them to look out for the PIN. Alternatively, you will need to update your official filing with the FEC or state/local authority to reflect your current contact information.
How long is my Campaign Verify token valid?
Tokens are valid for two-year election cycles. Currently, tokens generated for requests submitted on or after November 15, 2024, are valid until January 31, 2027. Once a token expires, you must submit a new verification request and pay a new $95 fee for the next election cycle.
Can newly formed campaigns that haven't filed yet get verified?
No. Campaign Verify requires direct verification from an election authority. If your official filing is not yet published online by your election authority, you are not yet eligible for verification.
