A local caller ID can increase your answer and engagement rates by 20%. At CallHub, we call it the dynamic caller ID. Here's how to enable it.
Dynamic Caller ID adds local presence to your campaign, which helps you show a local number as Caller ID when the calls are dialed to your contacts. This increases the answer rate as people are more likely to answer calls from a local number. For instance, if I'm calling people in California, the Dynamic Caller ID would rent a number from the state of California, so when contacts see a local number, they are more willing to answer than when they see a call from the state of New York.
Note: This feature is only available in the USA, Canada, Australia, and Great Britain for now. If you feel Dynamic Caller ID will be very useful to you, please email us at support@callhub.io with your request.
How a Dynamic Caller ID works
CallHub system analyzes all the contacts from your Contact list to identify the state based on the area code. The system rents a number for each state based on the availability using the below algorithm:
-
Check if the number is available for the state capital, Else,
-
Check if the number is available for the largest city in the state, Else,
-
Check if the number is available for any city in the state, then rent it.
All the rented numbers are added to the Dynamic Caller ID block.
Again, for instance, in our example for the state of California, the algorithm will first try to rent a number from Sacramento (the capital of California), then from Los Angeles (the largest city), or from any other city in the state.
Note: Dynamic Caller ID is available only for Voice Broadcasting and Call Center campaigns.
Call Center Campaigns
In the Call Center Campaign, Dynamic caller ID can be enabled from the "Targeting” section. You can choose the option "Automatically Rent a block" to create a new block, or if you already have a previous block, you can choose it from the "Use an existing block" dropdown.
Note: You can choose the same block in multiple campaigns at the same time. This works only in calling campaigns.
Voice Broadcasting Campaigns
Dynamic Caller IDs can be used in Voice broadcasting campaigns. You can find the option to select it under the “Settings” section. Similar to the call center campaign, you can choose "Auto Rent CallerIDs" to create a new block, or if you already have a previous block, you can choose it from the "Use an existing block" dropdown. Alternatively, you can choose "No CallerIDs" if you do not want to use Dynamic Caller IDs in the current campaign.
Note: The system scans the numbers for area codes when you start the campaign for the first time. Hence, choosing the Caller ID block while creating the campaign is recommended. Once the campaign is created, editing campaign settings using the "Change" option cannot be used to enable Dynamic Caller ID.
