Voice Broadcast campaigns that involve business or commercial communication must meet federal telecom (TCPA) and carrier compliance requirements. Carriers have tightened enforcement of the rules governing automated calls and pre-recorded voice messages, so all business/commercial Voice Broadcast campaigns require additional verification and approval. CallHub conducts proactive compliance checks before launching a campaign.
Staying verified:
- Keeps your campaigns compliant and deliverable.
- Prevents campaign suspension or blocking by telecom carriers.
- Protects your organization (and CallHub) from legal and regulatory violations.
⚠ Federal law (TCPA) prohibits automated voice calls or pre-recorded messages that deliver business or promotional content to cell phones and residential numbers, unless you have the recipient's prior express written consent or an Established Business Relationship (EBR) with them. These laws exist to prevent spam calls and protect consumers' rights.
Before you start
- Know your consent basis: either an Established Business Relationship (EBR) with your contacts or their written consent (Consumer Opt-In). You will attest to one of these.
- Our Support and Compliance Team can walk you through every step below — reach out on live chat or at support@callhub.io.
Step 1: Check whether your campaign counts as business or commercial
- Review your campaign content. If it promotes products or services or otherwise delivers business or commercial messaging, the requirements on this page apply.
- If CallHub's compliance checks classify your campaign as business- or commercially-oriented, you'll receive a notification alert asking you to contact our support team for verification and approval. This ensures your campaign is classified correctly and meets all telecom and regulatory standards.
Step 2: Complete STIR/SHAKEN verification (mandatory)
STIR/SHAKEN is a carrier-level authentication framework. It verifies your caller ID identity and prevents caller ID spoofing.
- Contact the Support and Compliance Team to start STIR/SHAKEN registration for your account and numbers.
- Complete the registration with their help.
ⓘ STIR/SHAKEN verification is required for all business Voice Broadcast campaigns — carriers use it to confirm your calls are legitimate.
Step 3: Sign the Attestation Document
You'll certify one of the following as your consent basis:
Consent basis |
What you're certifying |
|---|---|
Established Business Relationship (EBR) |
The recipients are existing customers or have interacted with your business recently. An EBR exists when you've had a transaction with the recipient within the last 18 months, or the recipient has made an inquiry about your products or services within the last 3 months. |
Consumer Opt-In (Consent) |
All recipients have given written consent to receive automated voice messages. |
- Get the Self-Attestation document from the Support and Compliance Team.
- Declare EBR or Consumer Opt-In as your consent basis.
- Sign and submit the document.
Step 4: Know what happens if you skip verification
⚠ Campaigns without proper verification are paused automatically until compliance is confirmed — this protects your numbers from carrier blocking and your organization from legal violations. You'll be notified with an alert asking you to contact support.
Once you complete verification and submit your attestation, your campaign can resume.
Notes & limits
ⓘ NOTE: These compliance measures are mandatory under federal telecom law and carrier policies. They keep your Voice Broadcast campaigns legally compliant, deliverable, and protected from carrier blocking.
