Segments are smart contact lists in CallHub that automatically update based on rules you define. Instead of using a fixed list of contacts, Segments continuously add or remove people depending on whether they match your selected filters.
This means:
Contacts are automatically added when they meet the criteria
Contacts are soft-removed (inactivated) when they no longer match
You always message the right audience at the right time, without manual updates
Segments are especially useful for organisers who need to message the same audience repeatedly—such as daily reminders, weekly updates, or monthly donation requests.
How Segments Help in Campaigns
Traditionally, recurring outreach required duplicating campaigns every time you wanted to send a follow-up message.
With Segments, you can:
Create one recurring campaign instead of duplicating it again and again
Automatically send the same message on a recurring schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, or custom dates)
Ensure recipient lists are always up to date at send time
Maintain consistent messaging, phone numbers, and reporting across sends
Replies from recipients are handled as in a standard campaign and routed to agents (P2P Campaigns) as usual. This keeps engagement smooth while eliminating extra setup steps and duplicate campaigns.
Setting up a recurring campaign using Segments
You need to follow the same campaign setup steps while setting up a recurring SMS campaign using segments or contact lists.
However, you can choose either a Contact List or a Segment when setting up the campaign. Once done, you need to set up the script as you would any campaign, then set the schedule.
Under the Schedule section, you need to choose the Schedule Type as "One-Time" or "Recurring."
One-Time schedule executes the campaign just like any campaign without recurrence set up.
Enable Recurrence
Choose how often the message/call should be sent: daily, weekly, monthly, or on custom dates.
Set the campaign start/end dates and operational hours based on your schedule.

Once the campaign is set for recurrence, the system will execute the texts/calls per the recurrence cycle. Messages will be sent daily, weekly, monthly, or according to a custom schedule.
