CallHub is a calling/texting platform where customers are more inclined towards browser-based calling.
The Chrome browser uses Web RTC plugin for calling. Android supports it whereas iOS device does not support the Web RTC plugin.
What is a Web RTC plugin?
WebRTC stands for web real-time communications. The primary benefit of Web RTC is to make a real-time browser-based peer-to-peer audio and video (i.e, multimedia) communications.
Let's look at the devices supported on CallHub:
1. Mobile: You may use any Android device in the case of mobile phones for calling. Browsers on iOS devices(iPhones/iPads) use the Safari engine, which currently does not support WebRTC.
2. Desktop: All modern web browsers support Web RTC on the desktop today. We recommend using Google Chrome as the plugin is supported by default and you do not have to make any changes on your browser. You may use any operating system i.e, Windows, Linux, or, MAC if you are making calls from a desktop or laptop.
